Sport Poole

Sport Poole (formerly Poole Sports Council) has been in place for over 40 years and throughout this time has aimed to represent all types of sports and sporting activities within Poole. Where possible, it helps individuals and clubs with information about facilities and grants.

Members meet 4 times a year, with an Annual General Meeting in June. Read the Poole Sports Council constitution, which details their aims and objectives.

If you would like to become a member of Sport Poole, or to find out who represents your sport on the local Sport Poole, please call 01202 261306 or email recreation.development@poole.gov.uk.

In conjunction with the council, Sport Poole awards grants to clubs and individuals to help them in their training and financial costs of attending competitions and events.

For further information about grants, visit our sports grant page or call 01202 261306.

Poole's Sports Awards

Poole’s Sports Awards are held each year to celebrate sporting success in Poole. They are hosted by Sport Poole and supported by the Borough of Poole and will once again be kindly sponsored by our leisure partners, Everyone Active leisure centres.

The 2018 Sports Awards have been deferred until February 2019.

If you are aware of any individuals or team success, we would love to hear about them.

To make your nomination count, download a nomination form for either a  Certificate of Commendation or the Freddie Rowe Trophy Cup and return it to recreation.development@poole.gov.uk. The closing date for nominations has been extended until Friday 30th November 2018.

There will be short period of assessment and we will then contact successful nominees and invite them to the event where the Mayor of Poole will present the awards.
