Healthy walks

We are excited to announce that from Monday 17 May 2021 the Poole Healthy Walks scheme will resume. We plan to restart with three common walks and look to build up to summer.

All walks are free and led by experienced trained volunteer Walk Leaders and with the increasingly longer, brighter days we hope everyone will take the opportunity to get out in the sunshine, enjoy our walks offering a great social opportunity to keep fit.

All walks end with refreshments using the on-site facilities available (COVID-19 restrictions apply). There is no need to pre-book for any of the walks, just turn up at the meeting points listed below.

Stay in touch by liking our Poole Healthy Walks Facebook page.

Walk grades

Our walks take in some of Poole's most picturesque locations including Upton Country Park, Poole Park, Canford Heath and Delph Woods. Most walks are short in length, typically between 1 and 2 miles on firm level ground.

Grade 1 – Suitable for walkers of all abilities, looking to be more active or returning from injury or illness. Generally flat and are usually less than an hour in duration.

Grade 2 – Suitable for people who are looking to increase their activity levels. Usually between 30 - 60 minutes and may include some moderate slopes, steps, uneven surfaces and possibly stiles.

Grade 3 – Suitable for people looking for more challenging walks and increasing their level of physical activity. They are generally 45 – 90 minutes and may include steeper slopes, steps, uneven surfaces, and stiles.
