Site description
Holes Bay is a prime location for birdwatching and has a paved cycle and walking route between Poole town centre and Upton Country Park. This is part of the Great Heath Living Landscapes with Dorset Wildlife Trust.
Types of habitat
Holes Bay nature park is an area of grassland and woodland and adjacent harbour saltmarsh and intertidal mudflats.
Mudflats, open tidal water, saltmarsh and hedgerow scrub.
What to see
Swans, geese, ducks and waders on the mudflats exposed at low tide.
In summer there are numerous flowers and insects along the shore line.
Parking
There is very limited parking on roads near to this reserve.
Dogs
Your dog must be on a short lead during bird breeding, 1 March to 31 July, or when livestock are near.
Remember to keep dogs under close control and to pick up after them.
