Description
The Creekmoor to Merley Trailway runs from Roman Road to the A3489 near the Willet Arms pub in Merley. The trailway is a well-used cycling route and forms part of the larger Castleman Trailway which runs from Upton Country Park and extends towards Ashley Heath.
Types of habitat
Much of the land is now occupied by semi-natural (through secondary) vegetation, typically scrub or woodland.
What to see
- common woodland species
- a number of bat species such as the pipistrelle and brown long-eared bat
- hear the call of the tawny owl in a number of locations
Parking
There is no parking at this trailway.
Dogs
Your dog must be on a short lead during bird breeding: 1 March to 31 July every year, and when livestock is near. Remember to keep your dog under close control and to pick up after it.
