Barbecues on the beach

Electric BBQs are available from 10am to 10pm on a first come, first served basis. For more information and details of electric BBQ locations check our user guide

Disposable BBQs are only permitted on the beach from 6pm to 10.30pm. You cannot have barbecues on Lake Pier beach or Hamworthy Park beach.

Gas barbecues are not permitted at any time.

Please choose your barbecue spot carefully. Remember smoke from your barbecue can cause offence to other beach users.

Hazardous barbecues will be put out.

When you’ve finished with your barbecue, please extinguish it carefully with water and leave it next to the bins on the promenade for collection by our waste teams. Do not bury or put hot BBQs into bins.
