Access to Leisure and Learning

On 3 September 2020, following the first national lockdown between 26 March and 31 July, we emailed all members whose cards had expired during this period, to offer a four month extension to your membership to compensate you for loss of use while venues were closed. We advised you to continue to use your existing, out of date card, and the leisure centres and other ATL&L venues would continue to accept it beyond the expiry date.

The second national lockdown, between 5 November and 2 December has complicated this process.

We are in unprecedented times and are having to adapt to an ever-evolving situation. To be fair to everyone, and to give you the full benefits of your ATL&L membership, we have reassessed the extension process. Details of how you will receive the extension have been emailed to you on 7 December 2020. If you did not receive the email, a PDF version is available. Please check this as it has important information about how to get your membership extension.

3. How to join the scheme and how to renew your membership

Due to COVID-19 tier restrictions and various lockdowns, Access to Leisure and Learning applications are taking longer than usual to process. Please bear with us during this period. If you are a renewing customer, you can continue to use your existing membership card, even if it has expired, until you receive your new card. You should continue to follow the instructions on the email sent to existing customers on 7 December.

If you are a new applicant, and you have already submitted your application, it will be processed when the restrictions end and venues are allowed to reopen. We would ask that if you want to join the scheme, but you have not yet submitted an application, you wait until after the current lockdown ends.
