Apply for a junior or middle school place

Junior and Middle school offer day

From 16 April 2020, all applicants who applied by 15 January 2020 for their children to transfer to junior or middle school will find out which school they have been offered.

Parents/carers who applied using the online system will be able to login to their accounts at 10am on this day to see their result. Anyone who supplied an email address on their application will be emailed their offer letter throughout the day. Parents who applied using a paper form and did not provide a valid email address will be posted their letter on the evening of 15 April.

Your offer letter contains the offered school and information about any next steps, so it's important you wait to read it before calling us.

2020 allocation

You may wish to look at the summary of the allocation to see how places were offered.

Before completing your application, it is recommended that you read the:

Applying for a school place for September 2020

You have the right to express a preference for the school you would prefer your child to attend in September 2020.

The published closing date for transfer to junior (Year 3) and middle school (Year 5) is:

  • 15 January 2020

You must apply to the local authority where you live, even if the schools you are applying for are in another area.

You can apply online or download an application form to post or email to us.

Apply online

You must have your own email address to create an account and apply online.

All late applications after the closing date must be on a paper form.

Applying on faith grounds

To apply for a place at a school in Poole on religious grounds, you must download and complete a Faith Grounds Supplementary Information Form 2020 (SIF).

You need to ask your priest or minister to complete and return it to our school admissions team by the published closing date. If you're a Poole resident applying for a school outside of Poole on religious grounds, you must contact that school to ask what you need to do.

If you do not return a completed SIF by the published closing date your application will still be processed but the SIF will not be taken into account. Applications received after the published closing dates will be processed after all the on time applications. This may mean that regularly oversubscribed schools are full before late applications are considered.

Applying on service premium grounds

To apply for a place at Hamworthy Park Junior School on service premium grounds, you must download and complete a Service Premium Supplementary Information Form 2020 (SIF)

You need to complete and return it to our school admissions team by the published closing date. If you're a Poole resident applying for a school outside of Poole on pupil premium grounds, you must contact that school to ask what you need to do.

If you do not return a completed SIF by the published closing date your application will still be processed but the SIF will not be taken into account.

Applications received after the published closing dates will be processed after all the on time applications. This may mean that regularly oversubscribed schools are full before late applications are considered.
