Admission arrangements for schools 2022-2023

Public consultation on school admission arrangements for 2022-2023. Unless otherwise stated next to the relevant school(s), the consultation will run from 09 November 2020 to 18 December 2020.  

The proposed policies are also available on each school’s website. Paper copies are available on request. 

Comments or objections can be submitted directly to the schools or emailed to school.admissions@bcpcouncil.gov.uk

The Local Authority Admissions Policy 

Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council Admissions Policy 2022-23 (for community and voluntary controlled infant, junior and primary schools)

We have made no significant changes to the way the policy works for each school. We will not be consulting on this policy.

  • Avonwood Primary School
    Policy changed to reflect School now responsible for the delayed entry to reception process.
  • Baden Powell & St Peter's CE Junior School

  • Bethany Church of England Junior School

  • Bishop Aldhelm's CE VA Primary School
    Priority for children with siblings at the school has been introduced into each category.
  • Christ the King Catholic Primary School - Consultation runs from 30/11/2020 to 25/01/2021
    Addition of following oversubscription criteria to include:
    5. Priority will next be given to children of other Christian denominations9 whose membership is evidenced by a minister of religion.
    6. Priority will next be given to children of other faiths10 whose membership is evidenced by a religious leader.
    In place of:
    5. Children who are members of any other faith.
  • Christchurch Junior School
    Twynham Learning has introduced a harmonised admissions policy approach across its four primary-phase schools for 2022/23 and therefore all school policies have had changes to bring together the previously slightly varied arrangements.
  • Corpus Christi Catholic Primary School
    Category 4 was brought in line with category 5 for clarity and consistency. The diocese added to category 4 and 5 the following: Alternatively the letter may be signed electronically and emailed direct to the school from the minister/faith leader’s or church’s email account.

    Clarification of how applications from a child living at different addresses during the week will be processed.

    Addition of 2 places available at point of transfer into Year 3.

    Addition of Appendix detailing process for requesting a delayed entry to reception year. 
  • The Priory C of E Primary School
    The proposed policy has the faith criteria removed including the SIF. The School remains a church school and is true to its Trust Deed and mission statement in serving the local community. 
    The current ecclesiastical boundary remains unchanged but criteria 3, 4 and 5 are changed.
  • Twynham Primary School

    Removal of Point 6(i) as is in the AY21/22 Admissions policy.
  • Parkstone Grammar School
    Removal of dates in the registration and selection process.

  • Poole Grammar School

  • St Peter's School (Secondary)
    Changes to evidence of faith and updated SEND terminology.
  • St Peter's School (Sixth Form) 
    Changes to evidence of faith and updated SEND terminology.
  • The Grange School
    Amendment 1 - refers to moving children of members of permanent staff at The Grange School from position 7 to position 4 on the oversubscription criteria.
    Amendment 2 - includes in the oversubscription Children who live in the catchment not currently attending a feeder school or who have a sibling in the school.
    Amendment 3 - relates to a reduction in the Published Admissions Number from 120 to 60 on page 2. This is for financial management purposes.
  • Twynham School
    Amendment 1 - refers to moving children of members of permanent staff at Twynham School from position 7 to position 4 on the oversubscription criteria.
    Amendment 2 - Includes in the oversubscription; Children who live in the catchment not currently attending a feeder school or who have a sibling in the school.
  • Twynham Sixth Form
    This is a new Sixth Form Policy which reflects the significant change in the curriculum offer at Twynham Sixth Form.  
    In 2022 we are phasing the introduction of an increased range of vocational courses; so we will be able to offer a wider range of  A levels and increased BTEC provision across the Twynham Learning Campus.
    This increases the overall potential size of the Sixth Form therefore the Admissions Policy has been rewritten to reflect the changes.
    With an increased Published Admissions Number in the main school, we have also introduced protected places for external students.
  • Winton Academy
    Priority no longer given on basis of medical reasons - removal of Point 6(i) as is in the 2021-22 Admissions policy.

All-through schools

  • Parkfield School
    Policy changed to reflect School now responsible for the delayed entry to reception process.
