The revised Statement of Community Involvement was adopted by Council on 15 December 2015 and sets out how we will engage with individuals, local communities and other stakeholders on a range of planning matters and in particular, how we will:
- involve and engage with the community and other stakeholders in the preparation of relevant Local Development Plan Documents
- consider and determine planning applications for development and how the community can be involved in this process
Planning policies shape Poole’s future and determine where we live, work, shop, spend our leisure time, how we travel around the borough and what impact we have on the environment. Important decisions on how Poole will develop over the next 15 to 20 years have to be made and we want as many people as possible to be involved in this process. Similarly, it is important that local people are consulted on development proposals that affect their local area. Some minor amendments need to be made to the SCI before it is published.
Poole’s first SCI was adopted in February 2006 with a revised version published in April 2014. The consultation on the newly revised SCI ran from 2 October to 13 November 2015 and the responses received have informed the final version.
