Poole's beaches continue to keep the Blue Flags flying high with four awards as this year's winners for the coveted Blue Flag are announced.
Beaches at Sandbanks, Canford Cliffs, Shore Road and Branksome Chine will once again be flying the exclusive Blue Flag, with Sandbanks celebrating its 30th year, having first received the award in 1987.
Visitors to the Blue Flag beaches can be assured of a great day out and can have confidence that their visit will be both safe and enjoyable with all beaches having to maintain high standards of management, cleanliness and safety.
The water quality at all award winning beaches will meet the required European Union standards, with the water quality at Blue Flag beaches subject to even tougher tests, meeting the very highest international standards.
Kevin McErlane, Head of Culture and Community Learning, Borough of Poole, said: "Poole's three and a half miles of beautiful, golden beaches are a fantastic place for both residents and visitors to enjoy and everyone is tremendously proud that they have once again achieved the sought-after Blue Flag status.
"These awards continue to put Poole on the map as a quality visitor destination and I would like to thank all of our staff and partners for their hard work and dedication to ensure that our outstanding beaches remain world class."
The Blue Flag, awarded annually by the Foundation for Environmental Education, recognises coastal destinations that have achieved the highest quality in water, facilities, safety, commitment to the environment and management.
