Plans to develop 203 apartments on the site of the former HMRC Offices in Serpentine Road, Poole have been approved by councillors.
Members of Borough of Poole’s Planning Committee, at a meeting held on Thursday 19 May, voted to grant an application made by ESRG Land South East Ltd, subject to conditions.
The application comprised the demotion of the existing offices (St Johns House) and former HMRC offices and the erection of a part 12-storey / part 14-storey block of 203 apartments. The accommodation consists of 58 studio apartments, 92 one-bedroom apartments, 49 two-bedroom apartments and 4 three-bedroom apartments. The plans also included a residents’ fitness suite, two integral decks providing 90 parking spaces and cycle storage and residents roof garden. In addition three A3 units and one A1 unit are included.
Cllr Peter Pawlowski, Chairman of the Planning Committee, Borough of Poole, said: "This well designed scheme, providing much needed starter accommodation in a sustainable town centre location was welcomed by the Committee. When complete it will improve street scene and provide an attractive frontage within this important location."
