Planned maintenance will affect Council services

Due to essential electrical safety work, a number of Borough of Poole’s services will be unavailable from 6pm on Friday 13 May until approximately 4pm on Sunday 15 May.

Residents will be unable to access council websites, including online forms and booking services. Affected websites are:

Council phone lines will also be affected during this period but the out of hours emergency contact number 0800 506050 will be unaffected.

The works will affect the electronic Variable Message Signs (VMS) across Poole. In the Town Centre these signs are used to direct traffic over either the Twin Sails Bridge or Poole Bridge when the other is raised. The bridges will operate as normal over the weekend, however it will not be possible to change the VMS to direct drivers to the appropriate bridge.

To minimise confusion to road users the VMS signs in the Town Centre will be covered up throughout the weekend and covers will be removed first thing Monday morning.

Andrew Flockhart, Chief Executive, Borough of Poole, said: "We hope that by carrying out this essential maintenance at the weekend we will minimise disruption to our residents. We would encourage road users to exercise caution while the VMS signs are not working and will ensure that the work is completed as soon as is practically possible. We apologise for any inconvenience or delays caused by this work.”

Residents can check on the progress of the work by following Borough of Poole's Twitter account @BoroughofPoole.
