Networking event to mark World Social Work Day

Professionals and members of the public are invited to learn more about the field of Health and Social Care at a free event being held to mark World Social Work Day.

Hundreds are expected to attend the event, to be held at Poole’s Lighthouse on Tuesday 21 March from 11am – 2pm.

Overseen by the Pan Dorset Academy of Health and Social Care and arranged by Borough of Poole and Bournemouth University, the event will see over 25 local and regional organisations from across Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset on hand to provide information and networking opportunities for both existing social care professionals and those interested in working in or studying the field.

As well as providing a host of information about health and social care, the event will also mark World Social Work Day. Instigated by the International Federation of Social Workers and held on the third Tuesday of March every year, events will be held worldwide to highlight the work of social care professionals and recognise the invaluable contribution they make to society. This year’s theme is ‘Promoting Community and Environmental Sustainability’, and organisations attending will be showcasing related work.
