Have you considered getting a Lifeline?

Are you keen to stay in your own home but do you or your friends and family have concerns about your safety?

Poole Lifeline provides an emergency contact system for people living at home. It is designed to increase independence and safety, help you stay in your own home whilst reassuring relatives and carers that their loved ones are safe.

Installing a Lifeline is a simple process. It is linked to our dedicated control centre which provides a 24 hours a day, 365 days a year service to all our clients. When activated, the unit will raise an alarm call to the control centre where one of our highly trained operators will quickly assess your situation and respond as necessary.

There are two services available to customers:

  • a monitoring service which relies on designated key holders (family or friends) being available to respond in the event of an emergency
  • a mobile service which means that Poole Lifeline can come to your home in the event of an emergency

An assisted lifting service was also introduced earlier this year as part of the Lifeline service for non injured fallers. This not only reduces the time customers have to spend on the floor when they fall but also reduces the need for paramedics to attend non injured clients. Since April 2016 a total of 230 assisted lifts have been carried out by the team.

Cllr Karen Rampton, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Housing and Community Services, Borough of Poole, said: "Poole lifeline provides friends and family with peace of mind and supports people to remain independent in their own home for longer, which for many of us is extremely important.

"The recently introduced assisted lift service helps reduce demand on our ambulance service and benefits our non injured fallers as it reduces the time they have to spend on the floor after a fall. I would strongly encourage people to consider a Lifeline, as our highly trained operators are available 24-hours a day, 365 days a year."

During the first month of the assisted lift service being introduced, all clients were contacted about their experience. The feedback received demonstrated 100% satisfaction with the service.
