Have you got a mystery object that you’ve dug up in your garden or found while out for a Sunday walk? If so, bring it along to the free drop-in session at Poole Museum on Tuesday 26 January and get your questions answered by a specialist. Claire Pinder and Ciorstaidh Trevarthen, from Dorset County Council’s Historic Environment Team, will be here to identify your archaeological finds and help to solve the mystery.
Poole Museum’s Curator, Sue Beckett, will be available at the same time to help with questions about other types of object – perhaps something you might have at home but have always wondered what it is. This free, drop-in service is available every Tuesday morning between 10.30am and 1pm. Please note that valuations can’t be provided. If you can’t call in, you are welcome to send an email about your object, preferably with photographs of it.
Offers of objects for the museum collections which add to the understanding and appreciation of Poole’s history can also be brought in during those hours, however you might be asked to leave them with us for proper consideration.
For further information please contact Poole Museum on 01202 262600, email firstname.lastname@example.org or see our website at www.poolemuseum.co.uk.
