British Marine and Borough of Poole are delighted to present the Marine Trade XChange as part of the 2018 Poole Maritime Festival Business Programme.
Taking place on Thursday 7 June at Lighthouse in Poole, the Marine Trade XChange is a must-attend one day conference, ‘meet the expert’ and trade showcase for marine, maritime and advanced engineering business leaders and key decision makers.
The event will host around 100 delegates from local and regional businesses with a conference followed by a series of breakout sessions aimed at encouraging networking and interaction through keynote presentations, panel discussions, meet the expert sessions and a trade showcase exhibition to create a 'meet the buyer / supplier' environment.
Adrian Trevett, Economic Development Manager, Borough of Poole, said: “Dorset and the South West benefits from leading world class marine businesses and strong and diverse supply chains. This is why Poole is looking to maximise the benefits to our local community through hosting the Poole Maritime Festival Business Programme again. The Marine Trade XChange represents a valuable opportunity for our local and regional businesses to hear our government's views, meet the national experts and find out what support is available to their business. We would encourage businesses to sign up as soon as possible.”
Richard Selby, International Development Manager at British Marine, said: “The marine and maritime sector is a £37bn industry supporting over 973,000 employees in the UK. Events that followed the EU referendum in June 2016 created change for businesses in many ways and it is vital for all to continually explore new opportunities in home and international markets to secure growth for the future. This could also include seeking more geographically local products and services. The Marine Trade Xchange has been created to support such companies by providing a single ‘one day’ source of information, innovation and inspiration.”
Poole Maritime Festival is proudly delivered in partnership with Borough of Poole’s Economic Development team, British Marine, Poole Harbour Study Group, Dorset LEP, and Poole Harbour Commissioners, with support from City Cruises Poole, Dorset Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dorset Growth Hub, Dynamic Women in Business, Lighthouse Poole and Young Enterprise.
