If you want to read a book, see a film or listen to a CD that is not in the library, you can request it and we will do our best to get it for you.
If you contact the library to request an item, make sure you give your library card number. We also need to know if you prefer us to notify you by phone or by email when it arrives. Please say which library you wish to collect the item(s) from.
There are several ways you can request items:
If the item is in stock in any Libraries West library, we will get it for you for a £1 charge, and tell you when it arrives. To avoid disappointment, please do not come to collect an item unless we have notified you it is at the library.
If an item is not in stock in any Libraries West library, you will need to contact one of your libraries to place the request. You cannot do this online.
We will either:
- buy a copy
- borrow one from another library authority or The British Library - there is a library charge for this
If you want to borrow music sets or play sets for your group we can get them for you. There is a library charge for this.
Dorset holds play sets and vocal scores at Wareham Library.
