The Reading Agency and libraries are excited to introduce Space Chase Summer Reading Challenge 2019; an out-of-this-world adventure inspired by the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing.

The challenge runs from Saturday 13 July to Saturday 14 September in all Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole libraries.

Children are being asked to read 6 books to help out super space family track down books nabbed my mischievous aliens! As they read library books, they will solve clues and collect special stickers to complete their mission folder. After reading their books, they earn their Space Chase certification and medal. Can they find the aliens in time to save the day?

Children can read any library book of their choice; fiction, non-fiction or picture books, which they can share with parents and carers - they all count. The under 3s are not forgotten with a mini challenge for pre-school children aged 3 and under.

A range of free family friendly activities will be happening across all libraries this summer including lots of fun space themed art, crafts, games and quizzes plus visits from the mobile science dome! Look out for our special summer edition of What's On For Children brochure.

The Summer Reading Challenge is delivered by libraries and produced by The Reading Agency. It is open to all children, free of charge. More information on the Summer Reading Challenge can be found on the Space Chase website.
