Our vision is that every child and young person should be given the opportunity to visit a library with their school to see the wealth of books we have to support their learning and reading for pleasure.
Class visits for up to year 6
‘Get to know your library’ (up to year 6) duration approximately 45 minutes.
This is an introduction to the library, including a story and an opportunity for children to choose books to borrow on individual or class tickets. Repeat visits are welcome to return and choose books. Our Library Assistants deliver these sessions.
Class visits for years 7-13 and Special Schools
Library Assistants also host sessions for Year 7 and above and Special Schools classes, and are happy to discuss your particular needs.
If you would like to arrange a class visit to a Poole library please telephone: 01202 262449 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Time to Read is a programme run by Booktrust. Each year every reception pupil in England will receive a book to enjoy and share at home. These will be delivered via their primary schools. All schools will receive their Time to Read packs by courier and are invited to arrange Time to Read visits at their local library. For further information about this project please contact the Library Literacy Officers on 01202 262429 or 01202 262455.
