Poole has a vibrant network of voluntary art groups and societies for you to get involved with. 

Whether you’re interested in music, theatre, writing, visual art or photography, there’s a range of groups open to all different ages and abilities.

The Chicken Soup Choir

The Chicken Soup Choir is Bournemouth and Poole's premier community choir - no auditions and low weekly fees. Join us to improve your singing technique and spice up your social life!

Bittersweet Harmony choir

Fun and friendly. We welcome new members. We sing popular songs from all decades.

Bournemouth Symphony Youth Chorus

For 8-17 year olds to sing all types of music, learn to read a score; improve vocal technique and harmonise.

Bournemouth Symphony Chorus

The closest amateur singers can get to performing professionally. You need to be able to read music, and to pass a relatively painless audition.

A fun and informal community choir for people who care for a family member with a disability of long-term health condition.

The Broadstone Choir

For adults who enjoy choral singing. Join a friendly mixed voice choir about 75 strong.

Wessex Harmony

Ladies who enjoy delighting audiences with performances; the age-group who are most appreciative tend to be 40 plus.

The Centre For Wessex Young Musicians

High quality musical experiences and ensemble training including youth orchestra, string ensembles and 2 wind band; available for children with musical ability.

Bournemouth Pendelfin Singers

For ladies who love to sing a mixed repertoire, which includes madrigals, African-American spirituals, folk and classical songs.

Luminos Community Choir

Songs are taught by ear, so there is no need to read music. The choir is currently full, so you will be added to a waiting list.


The Rising Voices Wessex Community Choir

The Rising Voice Choir is for people affected by cancer who want feel the health benefits and enjoyment of singing.

Poole Borough Band

They provide concerts for private and public functions. They also provide musical education for experienced musicians. Open to the general public.

Sing Together Community Choir

The choir is open to people with any, or no, experience of group singing - no auditions required, just a desire to give it a go! For people aged 55+.

Citrus Singers

Citrus Singers is a group of adults of all ages that love to sing; no auditions, no pressure, just good fun. Singing classic and popular songs for all ages 18088. The sessions are run in three locations: Canford Heath, Rossmore and Lytchett Minster.

Poole Ukulele Pluckers and Strummers (PUPS)

Twice monthly meetings (and more) for anyone who wants to play ukulele - absolute beginners to competent players, whatever your playing ability, you're welcome to join.


Kids Camera Action

For kids 7-16, learn to act, direct, operate camera and much more.

Broadstone Players

New members are welcome to get involved in acting or backstage and we also have an active social programme.

Poole and Parkstone Productions (P&P)

P&P Productions three sections – MTS (Musical Theatre), The Singers (choir) and The Players (who perform straight plays). Open to all over 16 years.

For anyone who would like to join a friendly and enthusiastic group– no age range or restrictions. 

Poole Printmakers

Open to anyone with an interest in image making. Poole Printmakers offers a workshop with printing facilities for relief, intaglio, litho, letter press, and screen printing.

Poole and East Dorset Art Society (PEDAS)

Get involved in regular workshops and trips for artists of all abilities, medias and genres who have a passion for getting involved. 

Canford Heath Art Society (CHAS)

All abilities welcome, we are a friendly club of amateur artists; who enjoy helping each other by exchanging ideas to further everyone's experience.


Broadstone Art Society

Weekly meetings in a friendly, professional atmosphere, a chance to exhibit together with workshops and demos led by recognised artists. Open to serious painters. 

East Dorset Braveart Society (EDBAS)

Suitable for those who are still learning to the experienced. Meetings are practical sessions where members bring their own work. 

Celtic Colours

We look at some of the ancient Celtic way of life. There is a Christian basis to most of our work, quietly incorporated. Anyone is welcome.

The Gallery Upstairs at Upton Country

They provide local opportunities to enjoy and participate in art through exhibitions and events.


Poole Camera Club

A friendly club open to everyone, aiming to promote the art of photography through talks, competitions and outings.


Poole Writer's Circle

Open to writers, aspiring writers and those who might be interested in starting to write.

Poole Poetry Group

We bring together writers of all levels for discussion of established poets and poetic forms and writing and performing your own work.


The Poole Decorative and Fine Arts Society

Hosting 9 Lectures which are available to visitors, space permitting, to attend three lectures per session.

Poole Vikings Model Club

With  specialties from plastic modelling, ranging over AFVs, Aircraft, Motor Vehicles, Ships, Figures, Sci-Fi and more. We welcome all.
