We asked about events in Poole over the past year.

  • 92% agreed that events are good for visitors
  • 85% agreed that events are good for residents
  • 92% said that events are good on Poole Quay
  • 81% felt that events are good on Poole's beaches

The most popular events were Summer Breeze on the Quay (39% had been to this event), Poole Park Festival (34% had been) and Coles Miller Dream Machines (Bike Night) (28% had been).

However, 2% commented that the Quay can be too small for events, that there is insufficient parking, and the events can be too noisy.

19% would like to see more events on Poole's beaches, with a further 60% saying that it "depends on the event". The type of events panel members said they would like to see were music (54%), sports (38%), arts (25%), children's events (12%) and family events (6%).

71% would like to see events held on Sandbanks, and 64% on Shore Road. But 6% commented that events on the beaches can restrict use of the beach, and sometimes access can be an issue in terms of transport links and parking.

Leisure Services and Poole Tourism Management Board said: "The results have given encouragement to continue with the current programme of special events in Poole. We'll start exploring additional events on the Quay and developing better events at the Beaches to give further enjoyment to local residents and visitors alike."
