Poole museum project consultation

Poole Museum's 'Our Museum Project' is a fantastic project which will make sure that Poole's wonderful maritime heritage, extraordinary collection of buildings and colourful history is preserved for generations to come.

The first phase of the project will focus on the ground floor of the museum and the Town Cellars, which currently houses Poole History Centre.

Poole Museum aims to conserve and restore the Town Cellars to its original form 'The Kings Hall', which was a grand wool warehouse, as well as creating a large, accessible venue for displaying important Poole maritime artefacts and an area that the community can use and enjoy.

Tell us what you think

We asked for the public's views on the proposals to restore and open up our buildings between 31 May and 29 June 2018. Poole Museum is submitting a bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund and the feedback we have received will play an important role in this process.

Respondents were encouraged to read the information leaflet and complete an online survey. They could also download a paper copy of the survey and return it to us using the Freepost address at the end of the paper survey.

The consultation on the first phase of the 'Our Museum' project closed on Friday 29 June 2018.

If you have any questions about the consultation please contact Rachel Martin at rachel.martin@poole.gov.uk.
