Bournemouth and Poole Health and Wellbeing board

Health and Wellbeing Boards are a requirement of the new Health and Social Care Act 2012. They have been established to improve the health and wellbeing of local people, reduce inequalities and make sure that there is joined up working between health and care services.

In 2012, the Bournemouth and Poole Shadow Health and Wellbeing Board sought to engage people and organisations in developing a Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy for the conurbation. Questions were asked to help shape the development of the draft strategy and online consultation on the Borough of Poole Website and Bournemouth Borough Council website ensured that everyone could be part of this process, including members of the public. The consultation ended on the 3 December 2012.

Responses helped to shape the draft Health and Wellbeing Strategy.

The Health and Wellbeing Strategy is for everyone in Bournemouth and Poole and is the Board’s overarching plan to improve health and wellbeing in these areas.

All administration of Bournemouth and Poole's Health and Wellbeing Board is undertaken by Bournemouth Borough Council. All information about the current Health and Wellbeing Board and Strategy is available on the BCP Council website. Full details of the  The Health and Wellbeing Strategy.
