Poole Children’s Trust is the partnership of agencies that deliver services for children, young people and their families in Poole. We are working together with all the partnership agencies working for children and young people in Poole in order to achieve the best possible outcomes for them.
What we're doing in Poole
All partnership agencies in Poole are working together to improve opportunities for children and young people.
We want to ensure that all children in Poole are safe, healthy, enjoy leisure activities and play, do well at school, contribute to their local community and are prepared for adult life and the world of work.
Agencies are listening to and working with children and young people and their families on the best ways to achieve this.
Poole's Children and Young People's Plan
Following consultation with parents, carers, children and young people, we published the Children and Young People's Plan sets out priorities to improve opportunities for children and young people.
Monitoring progress
Progress against our plan is overseen by the Children’s Trust Board which has a membership of senior representatives from partnership agencies. Children and young people are also part of this process through the Children and Young People’s Shadow Board.
Children's Trust Governance Board
The Children's Trust Governance Board provides strategic leadership and direction for the agencies. It has agreed a Statement of Intent setting out roles and responsibilities.
The board meets 6 times a year. Its remit is to:
- oversee development of integrated planning, commissioning and service delivery which achieve agreed outcomes for children and young people across Poole
- agree principles, overall direction and resourcing
- monitor progress

Bournemouth and Poole Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) is the key statutory mechanism for agreeing and ensuring that local organisations within Bournemouth and Poole work together to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people effectively.
The LSCB can challenge the Children’s Trust about areas where safeguarding is not effective.
