We have teamed up again with local chef and entrepreneur Alex De Freitas to deliver hands on cooking workshops aimed at helping participants to save money, get healthier and reduce food waste.
The 45 households taking part will be taught how to cook affordable, nutritious meals whilst also learning handy tips on how to reduce food waste and use up leftovers.
By carrying out a mini food waste audit in the home at the beginning and end of the workshops, we will be able to measure the impact the project has on the participants’ food waste and groceries spend.
The 45 households who took part last year halved their combined food waste, and reduced their combined food bill by 17%.
Applications for the cooking workshops are now closed. Thank you to all those who applied; we have received more than 150 applications!
Successful applicants will be contacted by 1 February 2019.
