Neighbourhood Planning Regulations 2012

Poole Quays Neighbourhood Forum

A Community Group has applied to the Borough of Poole to be formally designated as a Neighbourhood Forum and to set the boundary of their neighbourhood area in accordance with the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations 2012.

The Council is now seeking views and comments on the application from residents and other interested parties. The consultation begins on the 24th January 2013 and concludes on 8th March 2013.

The application shows the area within which the proposed Poole Quays Neighbourhood Forum will operate and, if approved, the Forum may be able to exercise neighbourhood planning powers leading to the preparation of a Neighbourhood Plan under the Localism Act 2011 in certain areas of Poole Old Town and Lower Hamworthy.  Representations should consider whether the neighbourhood area and the Neighbourhood Forum are appropriate to be designated.

The application form is available to download from the ‘downloads’ section to the right of this page. Alternatively it may be viewed between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. at Planning & Regeneration, Borough of Poole, The Civic Centre, Poole, Dorset, BH15 2RU.

A copy is also held at the Poole Central Library, Dolphin Centre, Poole BH15 1QE and Hamworthy Community Library, Blandford Road, Poole, BH15 4BG.

Comments on the application may be made in the following ways:

By email to comments.legalanddemocratic@poole.gov.uk

By post to Head of Legal & Democratic Services, The Borough of Poole, Civic Centre, Poole, Dorset, BH15 2RU.

All duly made comments will be considered and will feed into the Council’s formal decision making process.

Please note that if the Neighbourhood Forum is designated, no other organisation may be designated as a Neighbourhood Forum for the purposes of the Localism Act 2011 and the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations 2012 for that Neighbourhood Area until the designation expires or is withdrawn. This will only affect the ability to exercise Neighbourhood Planning powers and will not affect the existence or creation of any other neighbourhood community voluntary or charitable bodies in the area.
