Day Services Review (14 September - 19 October 2012)

Borough of Poole has consulted about the best way to provide day centres for older and disabled people in the future.

The Borough of Poole runs two day centres, and purchases places at two other centres provided by independent organisations. One of the centres run by Borough of Poole, Sea View, has recently been refurbished to better support people with a physical disability or a learning disability. This has resulted in a building that will give us the opportunity to develop and enhance services available to anyone who wishes to use them.

Poole day centre supports older people and offers a variety of activities that promotes independence, provides stimulation and enhances quality of life.

It is important for the Council to ensure that day centres continue to provide the type of service that local people need and also that they represent good value for money. To help do this, the consultation asked a wide range of people including services users, carers and staff what they thought of the Council’s day centres.

Residents of Poole were also invited to have their say and the consultation ended on the 19th October 2012. The results of the consultation from Poole Opinion Panel Members and from the service users of the day centres can be found on this page.
