An Equality Impact Assessment (EQIA) is a tool for assessing and consulting on the likely affect of the way the Council does its business for different groups of people. They help councils identify the particular needs of different groups and aim to reduce the likelihood of discrimination.

Each Service Unit has been asked to consider the likely impact of their key services from existing evidence. Service Units identify mitigating actions and these then fed into each service units' business plans.
