How will the Referendum be run in the South West and Gibraltar?

The South West and Gibraltar is made up of 38 voting areas comprising 4.1 million eligible voters. Each voting area has a Local Counting Officer (LCO). The LCOs are responsible for running the referendum in their area. This includes producing the register of voters, sending out postal votes, running polling stations, counting the votes cast in that area and declaring the local result.

Poole will be the main declaration centre for the results for the South West and Gibraltar with the Regional Counting Officer (RCO) Paul Morris having responsibility for collating the results as they are declared by each area prior to announcing the overall result for the region.

Which areas make up the South West and Gibraltar?

Read the list of 38 areas making up the region. Should you wish to attend a local count you will need to contact the relevant local authority directly.

What time will the declaration of results be?

The local declaration times will vary in each area across the South West and Gibraltar. Once all 38 local areas have declared their results the overall result for the region will be declared.
