About me

I have lived in Broadstone for 16 years with my husband and four children.

Until last year we had our own business – Molly’s – in the village, and through this I became active in the community, running the Chamber of Trade and the Christmas parade.

I stood down from this on my election in 2011, instead starting the Broadstone Fields in Trust Association which runs the summer fun day.

With four children we are always busy with school and sporting activities, especially sailing where we are all members of Poole Yacht Club. We also enjoy running and I can often be seen at Poole Parkrun or early in the morning at beach boot camps.

I work for a local disability charity and also run the youth club.

My priorities

  • To improve facilities for young people. The youth club has grown in strength in the last five years and I would like to see it open for more young people. I am also passionate about their opportunities for meaningful work experience, and would like to see investment in parks, skate parks and sports facilities.
  • To improve road safety and public transport. These go hand in hand. Without good public transport we will not persuade people out of their cars, and if people don’t feel safe to walk or cycle they will keep driving, making public transport less well used and viable.
  • To create a sustainable community. Broadstone is a popular place to live but its prices mean young people are scarce. There is limited opportunity for housing and this is usually dominated by accommodation for older people. To sustain our schools, leisure and retail we need to provide low cost, environmentally sustainable homes, whilst also ensuring our green spaces that provide wildlife, leisure and social space are protected.
