The interactive map shows road works that are currently in progress; the attached list shows planned works on all roads, or a shorter list shows planned works on only the major roads. The lists of planned works should only be used as a rough guide as at times works may need to be rescheduled or cancelled at short notice. It should also be noted that emergency works will not necessarily appear on the lists.
If you require further information on any of the works please contact the Promoter as listed, useful contacts can be found in this table.
Ashley Road - the next stage of the Three Towns Travel project has started in the Central Area of Ashley Road.
Blandord Road Upton
Southern Gas Networks (SGN) are about to carry out major works on Blandford Road in Upton, starting Monday 19th January 2015 to Sunday 22nd February 2015. They have agreed with Dorset County Council that the best traffic management to be used for these works will be a one way southbound road closure which will affect roads in Poole.
Traffic will be able to travel northbound (out of Poole) but they will not be able to travel southbound (into Poole) from the double mini roundabouts at Upton to Yarrells Lane. The official diversion route will be via Upton By-Pass, Holes Bay Road, West Street, Twin Sails Bridge and back to Blandford Road.
This will obviously impact on the road network in Poole and impact upon residents in Hamworthy, Creekmoor and Poole Town. Details of the SGN closure and signage can be found on the plan attached to the downloads section of this page opposite.
SGN have set up a webpage to keep the public informed of progress:
In addition to the static warning signs that SGN have had on site advising of the planned works, advanced warning of the works is being displayed on the Borough’s Variable Message Signs (VMS) at the following sites: Upton Bypass, Dorset Way, Town Gate Bridge, Holes Bay Road and both signs on the Blandford Road.
Any enquiries about this project should be directed to SGN on 02392 624627 during office hours (8am to 4pm) or 0800 912 1700 outside these times.
