Twin Sails Bridge lifting times during Poole Bridge closure

Poole Bridge will be closed for maintenance from September 2016 to around September 2017.

During the repairs, Poole Bridge will be closed to all traffic, including cyclists and pedestrians.

Poole Bridge’s lifting leaves will be left in an ‘open’ position for the majority of the works; see the Summer 2017 lifting schedule to the right of this page.  This will result in less frequent lifts of the Twin Sails Bridge (as the three-lift sequence is not required).

Please use Twin Sails Bridge during this time.

Unscheduled lifts

When hourly lifts are scheduled, the only unscheduled lifts will be under direction of the Harbour Master, or from commercial vessels longer than 40 metres.

Apply for an unscheduled bridge lift for a commercial vessel.

Mariners need to check the headroom displays at the bridge to judge if they can pass below without the bridge being lifted.
