Anti-Fraud And Corruption Strategy
Purpose
The strategy outlines the Borough of Poole's commitment to fighting fraud and corruption and summarises the responsibilities of Members, Officers and Contractors in relation to anti-fraud and corruption. The Anti-Fraud and Corruption Strategy also incorporates the Borough's "Whistle-Blowing" Reporting Policy and Procedure - a policy that provides guidance on the procedures that should be followed by Members, Officers and Contractors should suspicion of irregularity be raised, and explains how the Council will respond where fraud or corruption is suspected. For Housing and Council Tax Benefit, a separate Anti-Fraud Policy and Strategy has been adopted by the Borough of Poole. This is to ensure better prevention, improved detection and more effective deterrence of Benefit Fraud.
Consultation
Both the 'Anti-Fraud and Corruption Strategy' and '"Whistle-Blowing" Reporting Policy and Procedure' have the support of relevant trades unions.
