Waste Local Plan
The Minerals and Waste Development Framework
is the name given to the portfolio of development documents that will provide the framework for delivering minerals and waste policy guidance for Dorset, Bournemouth and Poole.
The Minerals and Waste Development Framework will comprise a number of separate documents which will include:-
- Minerals and Waste Development Scheme;
- Annual Monitoring Reports; and
- Statement of Community Involvement.
Following informal consultation on the Minerals Site Allocations Document (MSAD) discussion paper between 17th October -12th December 2008, it is proposed (subject to ratification by the Government Office for the South West) to merge the Minerals Core Strategy and the Minerals Site Allocations Document. The timescale for progression of the merged document is as follows:
- Consultation on draft plan- June 2009
- Publication of plan prior to submission - January 2010
- Submission to Secretary of State- May 2010
- Examination in Public - November 2010*
- Adoption of Plan - June 2011*
*The exact time of the Examination and Adoption will be dependent on the Planning Inspectorate.
Waste Core Strategy and Site Allocations Documents
The Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole Waste Local Plan (June 2006), contains up to date policies and proposals which are saved for three years from the date of adoption, until June 2009. The need to produce Waste Core Strategy and Waste Site Allocations documents as part of the Minerals and Waste Development Framework, has therefore been identified in the Minerals and Waste Development Scheme
.
Current uncertainties in relation to national, regional and local strategies, that will need to be taken into account in the production of the waste development plan documents, have resulted in the omission of a schedule of specific dates for production. However, this situation will be reviewed and the Minerals and Waste Development Scheme revised to include programme details for the Waste Core Strategy and Waste Site Allocations Documents when the next Annual Monitoring Report is prepared.
