On 19 October 2015, Navitus Bay Development Limited announced that after careful consideration, they will not challenge the Secretary of State’s Decision to refuse consent.
The team expressed their gratitude to all involved in the project over the past five years, recognising the extraordinary level of interest and the engagement from the communities across the South Coast, as well as the potential suppliers from the region who worked incredibly hard to inform the proposal.
Over the course of the project, the team have gathered a wealth of information including bird and mammal surveys, human activity evaluations, including shipping, navigation and archaeological data, geotechnical data and sediment sampling. The team want this information to provide a legacy by helping to stimulate future research, support academia and contribute towards the sustainable management of the seabed. They will be making this data available via The Crown Estate’s Marine Data Exchange once transfer and quality assurance processes have been completed.
