How can I be sure my card details will be safe?

For your increased security, we now processes payments using CSC  (the last 3 digits printed on the signature strip on the back of the card). We are also linked with Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode. If you have registered your details with either of these providers, you will be prompted to enter your password in order to process your payment.

To ensure that your card details remain secure, you will only be able to make payments via this website if you have higher than Internet Explorer 5.5 or equivalent web browser installed on your PC.  

New or recent web browsers support SSL technology, which is an industry standard for internet payments. This means all of your personal and card details are protected using 128 bit encryption when your details are transmitted over the Internet. This makes it virtually impossible for anyone else to discover and use your details.

When you proceed to the next screen to begin your payment, please check your browser strength. When you do this, it should tell you that it is 'SSL Secured (128 bit)’. You can do this on Internet Explorer 5.5 and above by using your mouse to hover over a ‘pad-lock’ icon in the bottom right-hand corner of your PC screen.

If it is less than ‘128 bit’, please return to this page and downloaded the appropriate updates for your browser to ensure your card details remain secure (this should take approximately three minutes to download).

Can I pay by Direct Debit?

To pay your Council tax and business rates you can set-up your Direct Debit payment instruction or call 01202 634234 to sign-up over the phone.

You can also set up a Direct Debit for housing rents and Sundry debtors – payment of invoices. To do this please request a Direct Debit form by e-mailing Financial Services.

Can I pay another way?

By Telephone
You can phone our 24 hour automated service on 01202 672932. You can pay with your Visa, Master, Maestro, Electron or Delta card.

By Post
Cheques are to be made payable to Borough of Poole and send to Financial Services, Borough of Poole, Civic Centre, Poole, BH15 2RU.

In Person
You can pay at the Cash Office which is based at the Civic Centre in Poole. Office hours are Monday to Thursday 8.30am - 5.15pm and Friday 8.30am - 4.45pm.
