Residents are invited to join the Mayor of Poole and other Council Members for the Annual Service of Remembrance and Parade at the War Memorial in Poole Park on Sunday 13 November.

Poole Park War Memorial

Taking part in the Parade will be serving military personnel, veterans and uniformed Youth Groups. They will be joined by Mayor of Poole, Cllr Xena Dion, Councillors and other guests including representatives from the Freemen of the Borough, Deputy Lieutenant Mr Paul Stopford-Adams DL, as well as representatives from the Fire and Police services, Poole Hospital, Dorset Magistrates and multi-faith leaders.

The Parade will make its way to the War Memorial, where the service will begin at 10.50am, led by the Mayor's Chaplain Rev Lucy Holt from St James’ Church, Old Town, Poole. The Salvation Army band will accompany the congregation in hymns, with the Service also featuring readings, prayers and the laying of wreaths. Two minutes silence will be observed following the sounding of the Last Post. This year’s service will also feature a salute from a military field gun which will be fired at the beginning and end of the Two Minute Silence. Following the service, the Mayor will take the Salute from the Parade, which will make its way from the War Memorial to the Cricket Pavilion, where it will then be dismissed.
