February Fun at Poole Museum

Poole Museum has a variety of fun, free activities available for families this half term.

Starting Saturday 14 February until Thursday 19 February, you can find out about Poole’s wildlife habitats with an indoor nature based trail around the Museum. A variety of objects to pick up and explore will also be available on the touch table.

Let your imagination run wild on Tuesday 17 February (11am-3pm), when the RSPB will be on hand to help make owls. Learn about these beautiful birds and take your creation home with you.

Make merry music on Thursday 19 February (10am-12noon). Inspired by the Borough of Poole’s award winning Starting Out programme, children between the ages of two and five years old can have fun by singing songs and making musical instruments. Take your children on a musical tour of the Museum whilst parents and carers will be inspired by the creative ideas to try at home. This is a free session but booking is strongly recommended.

On Friday 20 February (11am-3pm), come and listen to our seaside story and make sea creatures to take away. You can also follow our sea-themed quiz around the Museum.

Cllr Xena Dion, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for a Prosperous and Sustainable Poole, Borough of Poole, said: “There is so much to do for families at Poole Museum. It's a great way to entertain the children during half term and at the same time learn about our important history in a fun way, all free of charge.

"We would really encourage parents to bring their children down to have a look for themselves."

Poole Museum is open from 10 am until 4pm Tuesday to Saturday and 12 noon until 4pm on Sundays.

Further information on all events and activities can be obtained from Poole Museum on 01202 262600 or you can follow on Twitter @poolemuseum.
