Winner of the first Poole Park Mosaic prize draw

The Poole Park Heritage Group presented a Sony H300 digital camera donated by Tesco Branksome Community to the lucky winner of their Poole Park mosaic project July prize draw.

On Sunday, The Mayor of Poole, Councillor Ann Stribley, randomly picked the winner from a hat that was filled with the names of those who had uploaded photos to the project in July.

Poole Park Mosaic July Winner

The winner was Wimborne resident, Teresa Woolridge: “As a keen photographer it was a complete bonus to win a camera, as a former resident of Poole I absolutely adore the park and enjoy visiting with my two young grandchildren.

“The camera is so lightweight compared to my old model, so I will be able to take it with me on trips to the park and take more great pictures to add to over 17,000 of my photos that I have collected on my computer.”

The mosaic fundraiser is organised by the Poole Park Heritage Group, with every £5 donation for a photo upload unlocking up to £50 from the Heritage Lottery Fund towards developing Poole Park. It aims to create a lasting celebration of Poole Park by collating over 10,000 photos of the people that know, use and love it.

Eunice Marsden, Chair of Poole Park Heritage Group said: “I am delighted to be able to present the first camera on behalf of the Poole Park Heritage Group, especially as it has gone to such a keen photographer. I can only urge everyone who wants to be as lucky as Teresa to join in. It is probably the best value £5 offer there is, so upload your photos and be part of it!”

To be in with a chance of winning, all you need to do is upload your photograph to www.poolepark.org for a small £5 donation. As well as entering into the draw for a camera worth £150, you will also be part of a magnificent mosaic that will be in the park for years to come.

The winner of August’s prize draw will be drawn on 1st September at the offices of Dickinson Manser Solicitors, the project’s first Gold Sponsor.
