Upton Country Park Fun Day Success

Over 800 children attended Upton Country Park with their families for the annual Wildlife Fun Day on Wednesday 7 August.

Children tried their hand at over 25 different activities including recycled paper making, Zumba, big tree climbing, beeswax candle making, meeting real life bats and tarantulas, orienteering, making giant insect sculptures and clay tree faces. They explored the whole of the Country Park, making the most of the beautiful Walled Garden and play trail.

Cllr Judy Butt, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Public Engagement and Participation, Borough of Poole, said: "The ongoing success of the annual wildlife fun day demonstrates how popular Upton Country Park is among Poole's residents and what a great community asset it is.

"I hope that the children enjoying trying new things and fingers crossed this event will continue to be bigger and better in future years."

Chris Sumner from the National Trust said: "The Fun Day was fantastic, lots of children running around enjoying themselves and trying new things. We are looking forward to coming along again next year to support the event again."
