Have Your Say On Poole's Planning Documents

Residents in Poole can have their say on two planning documents which are open to public consultation until 13 February 2012.

The consultation involves Our Streets and Spaces and The Town Centre Heritage Character Statements and more information can be found online at boroughofpoole.com/consultation or by contacting 633939.

Our Streets and Spaces is a supplementary planning document (SPD) which looks at ways for improving streets and spaces of Poole, particularly for locations such as the Town Centre, Local Centres, Conservation Areas, Tourist Attractions, as well as priority areas in need of improvement.  The SPD recognises that progression of these aims can be better achieved by partnership working with other council departments.

The Town Centre Heritage Statements form part of the Conservation Area Appraisal (CAA).  The purpose of the CAA is to review the value of the historic, architectural and archaeological significance of the Old Town, Quay and High Street Conservation Areas with the intention of extending and combining them.

Cllr Mike White, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Planning, Borough of Poole, said: "Both of these documents will form an important part of the Planning Framework for Poole and I would encourage residents to have their say as we really do value their input."
