27 Jun 08Children's Community Day
Children's author and illustrator Shoo Rayner will be at a special open day at Canford Heath Library on Wednesday 2 July.
Annette Brooke MP will open the event at 10am before a number of fun activities for young children begin.
The free event runs until 4pm and parents with young children, five years old and under, are invited to join in the activities being held to promote a new children's centre which will open in Canford Heath in September.
Activities include toddler rhyme time, a teddy bears picnic, face painting, colouring fun as well as a giant children's book sale.
Parents will have the opportunity to chat to health and childcare professionals throughout the day as well as learning more about what services the library and children's centre provide.
Linda Northover, Children's Centre Manager, Borough of Poole, said: "Supporting children and their families is a key objective for Borough of Poole and I am delighted to have this opportunity to meet the local community and promote the services the new centre can provide when it opens in September."
