COMPUTERS AND YOGA LEAD THE DEMAND IN ADULT EDUCATION

More than 100 new classes have been introduced this year by Borough of Poole's Adult Education Unit.

Classes range from learning the Alexander Technique to painting on silk and from art history to certificates in basic counselling.

Courses are held during the daytime and weekends and during the evenings at 20 centres throughout the town.

Enrolling has already begun and you can obtain details of a course to suit you by sending a stamped, self-addressed envelope to Adult Education Services, Oakdale Centre, Wimborne Road, Poole BH15 3DL or by calling (01202) 262300.

Every house in Poole will receive a brochure detailing the 700 courses which offer leisure activity information and examination courses for students wanting to improve their job prospects.

Last year more than 6,000 people enrolled for courses, many of which were heavily oversubscribed such as computer and yoga sessions.

Elaine Findlay, Head of Adult Education, said: "Our new programme reflects the demand from people in the Borough and we are determined to maintain pre-eminent position in adult education."
