Poole's £150m tourism industry has been delivered fantastic national publicity at the start of the peak season. A double page feature by well respected travel writer Simon Heptinstall in the Daily Mail last Saturday (17th July) has already delivered almost 1500 enquiries to Poole Tourism.
Bruce Grant-Braham, Chairman of Poole Tourism
Partnership, said: "'This sort of publicity is worth thousands of pounds and sets Poole up for another fantastic year. We have had a fabulous run of publicity over recent years and it is particularly pleasing that the Daily Mail was able to applaud the investment in quality by so many of our businesses."
Hotels that received particular praise were the Harbour Heights, Sandbanks and Haven while the Cafe Shore restaurant was picked out for its stylish contribution to Poole's 'new cool'.
Graham Richardson, Tourism Manager, Poole Tourism, said: "Poole Tourism's web-site - pooletourism.com
- has received an additional 1000+ visits since Saturday and postal and telephone enquiries have also soared since the weekend."
