Promoting Young Drivers Safety - Free Competition

Introducing a unique and cost free opportunity for your organisation to promote health and safety both to employees and their families. The Young Driver of the Year competition is an ideal means of enhancing your organisation's community and environmental profile by promoting better driving standards among vulnerable young drivers.

Every year in the UK an average of nearly 4,000 17-24 year old drivers are killed or seriously injured as the result of a road traffic crash. Drivers in this age group are three times more likely than more experienced older drivers to be involved in a serious crash within their first year of driving.

This competition, which is supported by Uniroyal, CIS, Silverstone and Toyota GB in association with The Catherine Kenyon Trust encourages young people to become more aware and responsible for their actions on the roads. This high profile event also offers entrants free expert advice on how to improve their driving skills.

17 - 24 year old drivers are invited to register for one of the eight regional heats throughout August and early October. At these, competitors will complete an on-road driving assessment with a RoSPA advanced driving assessor. 40 competitors will go forward to the finals at Silverstone on Sunday 17th October.

We hope that you will be able to support this important safety initiative by encouraging your workforce and their families to take part.
