Festive French Fayre Comes to Poole

Christmas gifts with a Continental twist!

Poole High Street will be transformed into a French style boulevard on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 December when hundreds of French and continental stallholders come to the town for a special Christmas market. The market will trade from 9am-5pm and will be located between Old Orchard and Lagland/North Street.

The 'Festive French Fayre' will feature a host of specialist traditional food and drink products from the continent as well as household wares including examples of French African Art, traditional dolls, earthenware, Provencal tablecloths, leather goods and crafts including hand woven baskets, glass, candlesticks and ornaments.

The Mayor and Mayoress of Poole, Cllr Les Burden and Maryrose Burden will be attending the event and have been invited to sample many of the products including cheeses, fresh bread and cakes, olives, soups, crepes and Belgian confectionary. The Mayor will also be presented with a hamper of French and continental goodies on his arrival.

Poole town centre manager, Helen Crawford said: "The Festive French Fayre organised by Brunomart is a fantastic offering for shoppers in Poole and a unique opportunity to purchase Christmas gifts and produce otherwise only available across the Channel. Shoppers can take advantage of the free parking on Sunday, the last before Christmas, and can spend the weekend soaking up the convivial atmosphere and mixing with the friendly French stallholders."
