Poole lifting bridge will remain open this Autumn half-term to ensure that there will be little disruption to traffic flow.

Traditionally the bridge has been closed for some or all of the October half-term. This year there is no need to fully close the bridge and planned maintenance will take place over night and in between lifting times to avoid disruption.

John Rice, Transportation Services, Borough of Poole, said: "I am pleased that this year we are able to carry out the required work on the bridge without disruption to local people which is caused when the bridge has to be closed. Attempting to ease the traffic problem in this area is high on our list of priorities and this is something positive that we can do to help."
