12 Sep 01A Taste Of Local Delights
During September local people are invited to 'fall in love with local food' by the National Association of Farmers Markets as part of Farmers Market Month.
Jane Tyler, Taste 2001 Chairperson, said: "With September's Farmers Market taking place during Taste 2001 - Poole's Festival of Food, it is a wonderful opportunity to come and have a 'taste' of local produce. At Sunday's market there will be a whole selection of different tastes for you to try, from Ale, Stilton & mustard sausages to sheep's and goat's cheese, organic breads and pastries to the jam to have with them, so come along and 'taste' for yourself!"
Mandy Joyce, Market Organiser said: "Our aim is to bring quality local food to Dorset people and to support those who grow and produce it. This is a great chance to come and meet the farmers and see their locally grown produce. Food grown or produced locally has, travelled less, reducing pollution, it also needs less packaging and ensures it is fresh."
The Farmers Market is being held at Old Orchard Plaza, Lower High Street, Poole, on Sunday 16 September from 10am to 2pm.
