6 Sep 01Official Opening of Peacock Tea Rooms
Delicious cakes and a wide range of refreshments will be on offer at the official opening of the new Peacock Tea Rooms at Upton Country Park on Friday 7 September.
The high class Tea Rooms are located at the rear of Upton House, which along with beautiful surroundings boasts quality interiors including an Art Gallery on the 2nd floor and plans for a craft shop.
Borough of Poole's Social, Leisure and Cultural Services have worked together with local businesses such as Barclays Bank, Hunts Frozen Foods at Sherborne, Nestle UK, Tescos and B&Q at Fleetsbridge to support a new initiative which gives people who use Adult Social Services the chance to undertake vocational training and work experience.
Philip Mason, Community Support Team Manager, Borough of Poole said: "These lovely new Tea Rooms not only offer the chance to have some wonderful food & drink but they also give local people with learning disabilities the opportunity to learn new skills and gain new experiences."
"This project will help provide chances for people to get into the workplace and develop their life skills which we hope will lead on to opportunities for jobs with local employers."
The Peacock Tea Rooms are currently open from 10.00am to 5.00pm every day and offer a comprehensive selection of quality lunches, teas or light snacks. Roast Sunday lunches will be available fortnightly from 16 September at £7.95 per adult and £5.00 per child. Christmas Lunch Time menus are available for bookings from 19 November.
