GCSE Results

Poole students will be busy planning their futures following the publication of GCSE results across the country today.

Councillor Tony Woodcock, Cabinet Portfolio for Children's Services, Education and Youth Services, Borough of Poole, said: "A lot of hard work and effort will have gone into these exams by young people across the Borough and I congratulate all those receiving their results today.  Students in Poole schools are very successful in their GCSEs and once again I am confident that these students have done themselves, their schools and Poole proud."

He added: "Now that the results have been published, students can begin to decide on their choices of future education, training or employment.  Teachers, parents and the Local Authority have all helped to support our young people and ensure they get the best start in life and will continue to help them use their achievements today as a foundation to build on in the future."

Jane Portman, Chief Adviser for School Advice & Support Services, Borough of Poole, said: "The teaching and support network of schools in Poole works well to guide students to achieve their personal best at GCSE and students should be proud of their results.  GCSEs are one good measure of success but we must also remember that there are high achievements taking place across other areas of school life.  Students now need to consider their future plans carefully to build on the successes of today."
